We went to MGM yesterday. Went to Millionaire and guess what...I got in the hot seat. Just like during Star Wars Weekends. A little *too* just like that time for my taste. I can NEVER win fastest finger so I had to just hope that the guy who did win would get a question wrong early. After the 1000 pt plateau they showed the audience rankings and I was at the top...seat 6...which is actually in a fastest finger chair down on the set floor...just like in the show. There are about 10 seats down there, and people who've never been to 'Play It!' think that those are the only people elidgible to get into the hot seat until it's explained to them by the host.

Anyways, I digress. The question was 'Which one of these is a unit of measure?' and candela was a possibililty. Knowing it had *something* to do with light I chose that one and I was right...the guy in the seat was wrong. Once they showed the audience scores up on the board (to choose the next player in the hotseat) and they'd showed the top 9, leaving off #1 (for suspense I suppose) and I didn't see my number up there, I knew I had to be the one. And I was.

Long story short (too late) I used a 'ask the audience' on one I should have known (how many kids are there if you have septuplets?--answer 7) and a 'phone a complete stranger' on one I was SURE the person would not know (what is a dulcimer?--answer musical instrument) and he ended up being 100% sure of (thanks to the guy, wherever you are) I used a 50/50 on something too, so once I got to one I had no clue on (What is Dreyer's Ice Cream known as west of the rocky mountains?--answer Edy's) I was like...It's probably A--Breyer's, because they sound the same, but I'll go with D--Edy's. And I was right. Totally pulled that one out of my ass. Used up all my luck too. :)

One I got to the 250,000 pt question...and the Disney Cruise you get at a million was in my sights...they give me a flower question. A G*ddamn flower question. I don't know jack about flowers. Anyways...the question (Other than waterlilies, what flower is associated with July?---answer Larkspur) I answered Daisy and was wrong. Looking back, a woman in the audience correcting his pronounciation of "Larkspur" so I should have taken that as a sign. Anyways, it was fun...I was nervous but I think I played well and joked around with the guy to make it a little fun at least. I got pins like the ones I have, shirt like the one I have, hat like the one I have, and a lanyard like the one I have, but that's cool. Might put the pins in a case like I have the ones from the SW Millionaire.

I felt bad to lose, especially since Court was there and I know she'd love to go on that cruise. We'll probably go anyways, but still. I didn't feel as bad after losing as I did during Star Wars Weekends, because while the SW question I lost on was tough, I know a TON of SW stuff and there's still no excuse. I did NOT feel too bad not knowing a flower question.

All in all, a fun time. I have to wait 30 days to be in the hot seat again.
