Miers withdraws court nomination: "WASHINGTON-- Harriet Miers withdrew her nomination to be a Supreme Court justice Thursday in the face of stiff opposition and mounting criticism about her qualifications."
I had a feeling this would happen, and it did. Over the past few days things slowly drifted away from the line where her being appointed to the High Court was really going to happen.

Thank God I don't give a rats ass about this issue. I want to say that the majority of people don't really care any more.
I might be in the dark on this or the minority, but, has the Supreme court come down with a ruling lately that has seriously affected the majority of people. I think people are happy with there day to day routines and if anyone were to do something outragous that would affect their way of life, I'm sure we would hear a roar. Plus, almost everyone on the board is out of touch with reality and the changes in the economy, the social lines and what really matters to the majority of citizens. Their so damn old.
Well, I'm not a woman, but I think there's a real danger that the Supreme Court could, within the next 5-10 years, bring up Roe v. Wade again. These are the people that could make abortions illegal. If President Bush could appoint justices that could make that happen, I think he would.
I used to be pro choice, but since all things that I have been through lately, I have changed. Experience is the best thing to make your mind up on. Outside of rape and harm to the mother if the baby goes full term, I see no reason why I woman should have the right to terminate a babies life. At week six you can see the heart beat on an ultrasound, unbelievable. Abortion should be a quick means for a womans inability to keep her legs closed after partying with jose cuervo, jack daniels and jim beam. Theres the pro choice, because you choose to get wasted and than you choose to put out. being drunk is no excuse. But let me once again say, rape of any sort and physical harm to a pregnant woman are the only reasons for termination.

I pretty much agree with you. My fear is that the Supreme Court may make it illegal for *any* kind of abortion...even in cases of rape, incest, etc. It is possible.
I'm kinda uncomfortable with making laws about a biological process like pregnancy (or ending one), but like you said maybe becoming a father (or a soon-to-be, anyways), might change my mind. You're probably right.

Tell me what there is to understand Sandra. You make a choice to have sex and oops you get pregnant, but you haven't lived your life yet, is that the problem or is it that you act like a little whore by starting out in high school, maybe sucking cock at first and work your way up to getting on all fours to take it up the dirt road only to get pregnant later down the road on your senior prom. And look now, I have to do something because I'm selfish and only think about my needs. So tell me, does the child need to suffer because you choose to have sex. If you choose to have sex you obviously know the risks involved. You might get pregnant, maybe get an STD or simply have one hell of a orgasm and thats that. The choice to have sex automatically takes away your right to abort a life. You should think a little more, meaning wait till your mature enough to have sex so you can be responsible for the consequences. I don't need to be a woman to understand someone that needs to be responsible. I don't believe in the crazies that blow up clinics or kill doctors, I think thats way to radical, but, a man and woman should be held responsible when they have sex and create one ot he most wonderful things in the world, a baby. I piss on those couples that are perfectly healthy and choose to have sex and get pregnant and than abort because it doesn't suit their lifestyles or their in highschool. GROW UP AND ACT RESPONSIBLE AND DON'T BE SELFISH
I just think it's a touchy situation to 'force' a woman to have a kid...a process that might end up killing her. That's just my feeling about that.

Thats what I wrote earlier, if having the baby will end up harming the mother than abortion can be an option. But that issue really doesn't come into play til later because you can't tell early in the pregnancy if their will be complications, but even than I'm sure the possibilities of a mother dieng because of complications is extremely rare. The medical world has improved greatly since 1700. Out side of rape and all that crap, NO EVER FORCED THE WOMAN TO HAVE SEX, and now she wants to have an abortion, suck it up. There are alot of people that would be glad to take the child in adoption because the responsible couples out that do everything right and can't conceive are being screwed. Pardon my pun, but seriously, you can use abortion as a means of birth control. That tiny little peanut inside your tummy is alive and you are in a sense TERMINATING ITS EXISTENCE, to make your life a little easier.
Don't get me wrong, there are alot of idiots out there that don't deserve to have children so maybe the next step is to make it a law that sex can only be performed by people over 18 and kids having sex if caught will be executed. We will never have to deal with the abortion case ever. Geez, if we only took some responsibility in life we would be a better world.

Putting him up for adoption is an answer, but there's another process that's really flawed.
